About Us
We started our careers and our marriage working together as bookeepers at a non-profit counseling center.  Now that we are empty-nesters we are working together once again.  We want to have the flexibility that self-employment allows, yet we still want to be actively involved in the business world.  We have always aspired to blend our professional lives with our family priorities and that is our goal for those we work with.  Working with us to take care of the details of your business will allow you to spend more time with your family and friends while you focus on the growth aspects of your business.  Work-life balance can be within your reach!

OUR EXPERIENCE

Janica Smith

With over 25 years experience in offering support to busy professionals Janica has proven her ability to work as an integral part of a team.  She enjoys taking care of details and providing the framework that allows creative people to flourish.  She has spent the past 8 years working as an administrative assistant to two different executives who telecommute from offices miles from their corporate home.  This experience has given her the opportunity to develop ways of working in a virtual environment communicating primarily through email and by telephone.  She works regularly with professional speakers and enjoys coordinating their travel and presentation details to allow them to focus on delivering messages to their audiences. 

 

As the owner of Janica Smith Bookkeeping Services for the past 10 years she has provided bookkeeping services to a variety of non-profit organizations, small businesses, and individuals.

 

Janica has also had over 10 years in a variety of direct sales companies.  She has held management positions in two different companies and has been responsible for training and coaching other consultants.  She has an insider’s understanding of the challenges to managing a team of consultants and a direct sales customer base. 


Jim Smith

 

Jim has worked the past 30 years in state government agencies.  He has had responsibility for managing cash flow and budget analysis.  He has had extensive experience working with databases in a variety of software programs.  Jim has technical writing experience and is an expert in Excel.

 

Jim has also been involved with Janica Smith Bookkeeping Services and most recently was responsible for the bookkeeping functions of an elderly woman who required extensive household and nursing staff.  This included paying household bills and a weekly payroll for 6 – 8 people including payroll tax reports.
